The game kicked off at 11 a.m. ET from Houston with the weather showing low 70s and partly cloudy – ideal football-watching weather if you ask me.

Week 10 of the college football season will not only have a significant impact on the AP top 25 poll and conference championship races -- as always -- but it is also the final opportunity for teams to jockey for standing in the first College Football Playoff rankings to be released Tuesday.

Elsewhere in Big Ten play, Washington upended No. 23 Illinois 42-25 in Seattle, improving the Huskies to 6-2 on the season and 3-2 in conference play. Sticking in the Pacific Northwest, No. 6 Oregon — playing much of the second half without quarterback Dante Moore — ground out a 21-7 win over visiting Wisconsin.
