For 87 years now the Riga Central Market has been the heart and the belly of the Latvian capital. Recognized not only as the largest but also the best and most advanced marketplace in Europe in 1930 when it was opened, it continues to serve its mission and was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1998.
